Before you plug in the ipod go to the top left hand corner of your screen and click on edit. Then Click on prefrences. Then a window will come up. Click on Ipod and make sure you have the bubble next to manually manage songs and playlists clicked. Now when you plug in the ipod it will show up on the left side of your screen. You won't lose your songs. Also if you want to transfer all of your songs back to your computor you can use a program like Copypod.http://www.copypod.net/

Unfortunately, the songs won't be there any longer. You have to create back-ups of the itunes you download, just in case.

u should b able to dounload from i pod but i dont know how
