The first thing- do not pay them. OK- you probably already did BUT- don;t do that again. Never pay until it is done to your satisfaction.
Now, immediately demand by letter that the contractor come and repair his deficiencies. Give him 7 days in the letter to show up and repair and clean. Send the letter via registered mail.
Hopefully he will come and do it, if not, send a letter marked FINAL DEMAND FOR REMEDY stating very frankly and professionaly that he return and finish the work.
IF that doesn't happen, call your attorney and sue him for repairs. Remember- you usually do not get to charge costs of cleanup and repairs you had to make due to a contractor BACK to that contractor unless you gave him an opportunity to do it himself FIRST. (That is what the letters are for)
Definitely seek and attorney's opionion. ALso, I hope you had him pull a building permit. If so, complain to: The city, His licensure board, HIS BONDING COMPANY. THat is the biggee for REAL contractors. If he isn;t bonded you shouldn;t have done business with him anyway- b ut live and learn.

Im a roofer, and i take pride in my work,my jobs are done right.People who screw up roofs piss me off because it makes it that much harder on honest guys like me.But the bottom line is...if the building inspector signed off on it...youre screwed unless your roof is leaking, and even if it is leaking you have to prove it was the roofers fault. And let me give you some advice that alot of people dont know...Once the contractor is finished with your roof,if you send someone else up there to look at it,the contractor can void your warranty because now he/she can say that the last person on the roof caused the problem,so be careful.Contact me if you want to go into more detail, like exactly what it is thats wrong with your roof.

Start with the contractor that did the job, Let him know of your displeasure & that you intend to contact the State Contractors Board and the Better Business Bureau if he doesn't correct the problem at no further expense to you.
You could also ask him if he would like you to put him here......http://www.ripoffreport.com/default.asp or maybe you can try here.......http://www.pueblo.gsa.gov/complaintresources.htm#rlist

Contact your Contractor State License Board. They will investigate and order the contractor to remedy the solution.

in order:
1.talk to the company that did it and make them repair or pay to repair it.
2.report them to the better business beaurau("BBB").
3.take them to small claims cort.
if all that fails then just accept it as some of the crap we all get in life once in a while.**** happens.

I'd agree, keep complaining to them and say you'll take them to court and have it redone and they'll have to pay for it.
