The sprint telephones use the CDMA technologies so that they do no longer use SIM playing cards, nor will they artwork on Nextel's community. it really is the reason they kept the names sprint and Nextel separate after the merger. they are not properly ideal, and believe me absolutely everyone in the cellular telephone international are nevertheless attempting to make certain out why they did it. oftentimes once you purchase out yet another company you purchase out one with an same technologies. FYI there are 3 major cellular technologies: GSM, CDMA, and IDEN. sprint makes use of CDMA and Nextel makes use of IDEN. IDEN became stepped ahead through Motorola it quite is fairly a lot why they have a monopoly on the Nextel telephones. To my information Nextel is the basically operator in the U. S. that makes use of IDEN technologies. From what I comprehend the Renegade is a CDMA telephone that permits PTT communication with IDEN telephones, yet calls for a CDMA community to operate (so it is going to easily artwork with a contact account). they could assist you turn networks even with the undeniable fact that.

As long as it uses the same kind of sim card sure. I various times switched my i60 to and i90 without any problems. Even when you switch back its okay. when it was in my i60 I had a normal ring tone. When i used the i90 i had an interesting goofy little ring tone. it was always safe for me.
Just be careful not to force the sim card in. It should require a tinch of force but be gentle. If it doesn't want to go in investigate. that's my motto. ;)

You used to be able to but now it depends on the phone model that you have. The chip for an i205 wont function properly in a i870. You wouldnt be able to use all the features.
