It's 61 years after WWII. Isn't it time we stop portraying Germans as evil in movies and such?

Most villians in movies are either German, or Russian....The US isn't loved everywhere y'know.

I am 28, mixed race, and very in tune with my partial German background. My irritation is with all the movies with evil Germans, and Russians.... What abouyt the treatment of the blacks, the Native americans, the indians, and now the arabs. Not alot of effort to say some were bad, some were good, just all are bad.

That type of hypocracy is what I'm talking about. The holocaust is a horrible horrible thing, and it shames me the Germans-- nay the Nazis (there's a difference) took part in it.

If you do your homework everyone in Europe, and the near East blamed the Jewish people and persecuted them as well, but that isn't mentioned. Even the Christians attacked the Jews in Jeruselem during the Crusades.

Point is, there are actrocities and demons that we still are dealing with now, in the present that are unresolved.

WWII is way over, and issues in the present need addressing now, lest we ignore it and allow it to fester...ie 9/11.

Well I have Russian parents and I can tell you that I'm sick of how Americans still portray Russians and Germans as villains. It is really pathetic. If you went to Russia you would see how poor most citizens are and that being a spy is out the question. As for the Germans well I think they would rather spend their time and money on technology and the car industry.

WWII generation is still alive and will never forget what it was like. My mom is still starteled with sounds of German speech. She was 8 when the war ended... She's Russian.

Don't watch the old movies if you don't like them. I think there are very few new movies that show Germans or Russian as bad guys. Russian language is very nice and musical when spoken by an educated native speaker rather than by a fake Holliwood guy. The "Russian" that you hear in movies is not even Russian in most cases. It always saddens me howcome they spend so much money on the movie but won't hire a consultant for just one hour to fix the language mistakes.

Soviet Union posed a threat to US for long enough time. No surprise here as well.

many of us still hate the Spaniards for the Spanish Inquisition
and that was 400 years ago ,(I am from the Netherlands,which was conquered by the French,Spanish and Germans))

And what about the Christians their hate of the Jews goes back more than 2000 years

The Germans have done their share in real history to make them villians and they live with it. The Russians were our enemy for years so of course the "Red Hoarde" will always be a villian to the US. It's true that a lot of the world dosen't like the US. Screw them. They can have their 3rd world shacks and camel herds. I enjoy my freedoms and my 11,786 channels of cable TV, AC, 2 cars, a nice house and a good job. If they want to make us the bad guys in THEIR movies let them. But their movies suck because we have Hollywood and we make the best movies anyway so we get to choose our villians.

first point its not like its a conspiracy to get at the Germans ,99.9% of all movies made today are independently made and are made to make a profit.i hardly see a war film today that actualy sets as it theme..shoot the germans.most are about a group of young men bonding, covering each others backs or just wanting to go home.PRIVATE RYAN and BROTHERS IN ARMS for example....
When we look at GERMANY to day it wants to be respected and plays its part in EUROPE .It has a democracy and has offered troops to take part in peacekeeping missions so it has come a long long way since 1945 .

No in fact on primetime they had a special recently where they showed two little girls praising Nazism and hitler and most germans deny the holocust, so they need that as a reality check.

Germans and Russians are portrayed as evil because their languages sound harsh. Could you imagine a sweet-sounding French villian? I can't!

We did not kill 6 million Jewish people. Can you raise them from dead? Then maybe a little longer & those who lived through it will die & we will forget.
Besides, the villians of today are of every nationality. Do you see American movies?
