What year is best to have : from 1996 to 1999 on the C230
The Kompressor or just the C230 with out the turbo? also any problems with the Kompressor ? more reliable from the two?

Of the ones listed I'd take the 1999, but would prefer the 2007.
And the Kompressor is not a turbo or a supercharger. Its a device pumps more a pressure into the cylinders. Some what like a turbo or a supercharger but its not.

the 99 c280 is a super charged car,,and it is a very smooth,,and comfortable ride,,i like it better than i do the 96,,even though there is very little difference in them,,the 99 is styled a lot better,,and has more of the stylish look that you expect from Mercedes,,and it is a dependable car,,but i own a repair shop,and they are expensive to repair,,parts are the worst thing on them,,because it is a Mercedes the parts price doubles,,as compared to an average car,but then,,they don't tear up that much,,and if taken good care of,,they will last a long time,and give a lot of good service,,i hope this helps,,i own a repair shop,,and i enjoy working on the luxury cars,,they have a lot of class,,and some times are easier to work on,,in certain category,s,,good luck.

A word of advice. The Kompressor is not a turbo. Is a supercharger.

I love mercedes, had a 97 C280 myself. There great cars, expensive to fix but they are very smooth.
One thing worth mentioning, it's a supercharger not a turbo....
I'd get the 99' I think there all the same anyway

I would suggest to buy a new one. I spoke to the salesman why they stopped making Kompressors (I like their body style) and he said that they were not fuel efficient.

If U getting a Benz (I got '94 C280-190K on it, and '94 S350- 146K on that one) whatever U do, do not get one that made anywhere else in the world but Germany! My relatives got C240 made in Brazil, its a joke. This is the most important, everything else is secondary.

well, i dont like them..but that's just me. the plastic bumpers and rocker panels are extremely cheap, and crunch like an accordion when hit at less than 2 mph..they're also extremely expensive to repair, being a mercedes

The C230K is hot. It's very sporty with those 17" tires.

The newer the better. I have an E320, you can't get a better car that that.
