I've had this lipstick for some time now and it's sticky and smells weird but what about perfumes, lotions, nail polish and other beauty products do they expire?

All these products have a shelf life. If your lipstick has an odour ... throw it out. Lipstick and nailpolish have been known to keep a bit longer if you put them in the fridge. Perfumes also, dont last that long. If you have a nice perfume that you're keeping away for a special occasion, no point. Use it now, otherwise, the fragrance changes. Same goes with perfumed body lotions.

Lotions should have an expiration date - but I would say that lotions are 18 months,
Lipstick: 1 year
Eye make-up: 3 months
Blush: 6 months
Nail Polish: 2 years, if stored properly

Bare Escentuals minerals NEVER expire by the way :)

Anything that is made out of animal "fat" will rot. Lipstick is made out of whale fat. Perfumes are made with oils and some oils come from animals. Lotions will definitely expire. I overstocked on Victoria's secret lotions because they were on sale and I see very tiny Warm look alike creatures in them; therefore, I had to throw then away. DOn't overstock. AS for nail polish, I thinks they have a shelf life of 4 years. Make up that is wet, for example, foundation, mascara, lip gloss, and others will exprire. Usually, the smell will tell you when its time to restock. Good luck!

Perfumes evaporate or can change to a weird smell as they dry up especially in the heat. Also, some ingredients can go 'off'.

Nail varnishes evaporate and turn into sticky gunge.

Lotions, creams etc that have any oils or natural emmolllients may go rancid after time.

Make-up that you regularly dip your fingers into or reuse the same pad or sponge to apply can get coated with a layer os skin and grease from your face etc and go pretty manky!.

Use anything oil-based, creams lotions, perfumes, lipsticks, cream-blush etc up quickly. Keep only new pads, applicators, brushes etc or VERY clean ones to dip into make up to help it last longer :-)

Perfums will get a darker color as they go bad and the scent changes, nail polish will thicken up to the point you can no longer apply it, lipstick will change color and be hard to apply , that is it's no longer smooth and soft enough to go on. It will also look cakey. All that stuff has a shelf life.

If I'd say throw everything out once a year if you haven't used it up. Mascara every 3 months. If it smells funny and is sticky, throw it.

Your smelling the festering luster of ROTTED flesh and bone and skin and fat cells, all blended up to make your lips a tasty treat to kiss on! Most make up is just blended dead ****! Your tube is definitely expired and is ROTTING right on your skin where you smear it every day! How un savory!
