Americans are increasingly becoming aware of the fact that Democrat's philosophy is wrong in most respects. They are afraid of becoming irrelevant. Therefore they think discrediting the president is the key to regaining power.

Because the president is an idiot. His idea of defeating terrorism is to invade a country that was headed by a guy that his daddy tried to get and couldn't. Iraq had no connection to Al Qaeda, and they had no WMD. So why did we go in again?
THAT is why Democrats don't agree with anything the president is doing to fight terrorists - he is doing nothing, and the stuff he does claiming that it is fighting terrorists is really just some self-serving actions.

We went after Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. Where is bin Laden? Aren't we suppose to capture him for setting up 9/11? YOUR president didn't do that. He decided to go into Iraq for no reason. There were no TERRORIST IN IRAQ. Saddam and Osama didn't even like each other, so why would Saddam support him?
The cost of doing business is YOUR president doing business with Iraq. He is there for only money (Hallburton) and oil. Some guy above stated it can't be oil because oil prices are costing us. What pocket do you think that profit goes to? Prices are going up because bush states there isn't enough resources, yet Exxon posted a 3 MILLION DOLLAR PROFIT?!? How did that occur?
Two-thirds of the country do not support bush's stance on the Iraqi war, so it is not only Democrats. The fact he states he isn't pulling troops out before he leaves office tells you he is only occupying Iraq for economical gain, otherwise, why keep troops in Iraq for years if Saddam is gone?
You work with the other countries to slow terrorism. He has caused many countries to be angry with us. When you do that, terrorist groups get stronger, like what has occurred in Lebanon...

Our president isn't "fighting terrorists." Your question shows a deep-seated misunderstanding of the argument. You make several assumptions:
1. The president is actually fighting terrorists.
2. The only alternative to the president's methods for "fighting terrorists," is to "let Al Qaeda ... hit... us every 10 years."
3. We actually have the moral high ground in this fight.
4. It's just Democrats that disagree with the president.
First of all, let me start out by stating quite clearly that I do not identify myself with the Democrats in any way, shape, or form. I am a 100% staunch libertarian. I do not believe in a woman's right to kill an unborn baby simply because it happens to depend on her for survival. I do not believe in the government's right to legislate personal weapons of any kind. I do not believe in the redistribution of wealth under any circumstances. I do not believe in mandatory education, or that the federal government should be involved in the educational system at all. So no, I am definitely not a Democrat. However, it's not just Democrats who think Bush is an idiot, or worse.
In my way of viewing things, we are in a mess now that we got ourselves into at the end of World War II. When the Jews had no place to go, and starting kicking up an extremely violent ruccus over it, we gave them part of Palestine. The argument is commonly made, "but Israel is such a SMALL country, it's just a little land..." Of course, this is entirely true, but I was raised on a farm of just three acres. It wouldn't have mattered if there was a new country given to the Jews here in the states, of only three acres, if that happened to be MY land. In the case of Israel, thousands upon thousands of Palestinians and Arabs were driven from their homes and required to travel for many miles, in many cases with only what they could carry and the clothes on their backs. They lost most of their posessions, their jobs, their way of life, and their land. Of COURSE they were unhappy, I would have been too. Ever since then, the Arabs and Palestinians have banded together to destroy Israel, and drive the Jews out. And I certainly can't blame them. We're not even 60 years later, and some of those who were alive then are still alive, old, but still remember the long trek to their new home. Ever since then, we've constantly inserted our nose where it doesn't belong. The Jews, Arabs, and Palestinians hated each other long before anybody ever thought about an America, and they will continue hating each other long after our collective stupidity has destroyed us. Basically, we asked to be hated.
Now, a true dilemma faces us. We've screwed up, big time. We've created enemies, befriended them, armed them, and then acted shocked and outraged when they turned against us. We've lost a few thousand people, and killed tens of thousands, many of whom were completely innocent and just "collateral damage." In addition, we're fighting a war with only partial popular support, and very little world-wide support, with no end in sight. Not only are we not even close to done in Iraq and Afghanistan, but now it looks as though we'll be invading Iran, and probably North Korea as well. And, with space-based lasers that fire at the speed of light, and satellite cameras that can see the pollen on a flower, we've still failed to catch or kill our original target.
Goodbye, America... it was nice to have known you...

Please don't make obviously incorrect generalizations.
I had no problem with Afghanastan - there were actual links to Al Qaeda there, as well as international support for our actions.
Iraq, however, is a different story. It was one of the only secular nations in the region, and now it has a government that says Islamic law is the highest there is.

What's he doing? Oh yeah, he invaded Iraq which even he now admits had nothing to do with 9/11 or any terrorist attacks on us. And he's done a great job of finding bin Laden - send those troops in Iraq into Afghanistan you fool. And he's - nope, he didn't do that.....and hey, I doubt if anyone can think of anything the idiot has done except engage in meaningless posturing.

Quit generalizing so much. Believe it or not, the majority of liberals do NOT support terrorists in any way. Disagreeing with the war in Iraq does not mean that we don't think we should protect the country against terrorists.

maybe they feel the president is doing a terrible job at fighting terrorists. i find it poor logic to say that because dems disagree with the president's methodology they must WANT to be attacked by terrorists. that's like saying because there has been much collateral damage in iraq republican LIKE killing civilians. try restating your question next time so you don't sound like such a reactionary. no one will take your idiotic questions seriously.

Because Bush continues to make the same arrogant decisions that many of the USA's leaders have made for many years. Back to Manifest Destiny. "We will prevail because God wants us to and God is on our side," No wonder much of the world hates us. Who do we think we are?
Righties, please don't start with the "love it or leave it" crap. I love my country enough to want to make it better, not to just accept without question.
We can't stop terrorism by imposing our will and our culture on the rest of the world. We will just continue to foment hatred towards us.
As far as gas prices still being high. Of course they're high. Bush/Chaney are dipping at both ends. Out of theirs and ours.
Wake up!!
Looks like Nathan beat me to it. He is MOSTLY right!
