is it possibe to be totally committed to someone (girl/boyfriend, wife, husband, mother, father, best/goodfriend, sister, brother, cousin.................) in thoughts, words and deeds despite this person's faults and the number of times they've wronged you? yes/no and why?

No, unless you're completely naive.

If they've wronged you, you will always have doubt.

Let's say your bf/husband cheated on you. You forgive him. In the back of your mind, you will ALWAYS have that situation sitting there, waiting for a chance to use it against him. Or, you'll always be anticipating the next time he cheats. You're always going to have doubts. And you asking this question shows your doubts cos you're looking for positive feedback to try and squelch your doubt.

Those that say they've forgiven and everything's fine - they're the needle in the perverbial haystack.

Yes it's possible.I can't believe I'm about to say
this but my mother used to beat the hell out of me and my sisters when we were children. She slapped us,bit us,spit on us,pulled our hair, threw food at us.She even beat us with hair brushes, belts with metal on them. But even though she did all these things I was always a mama's baby.I
was so close to her because sometimes she was ok.It's like she was normal but then she would act as if she was possessed by a demon.
But I chose to never forget how happy the good times were with her and I was her shadow.I need her.And now that we are all grown things have changed. She knows she did wrong and regrets it.

I think it's all about acceptance. If I can accept a person with all their idiosyncracies , good and bad, then I have the power within myself to totally commit myself to them. This does not mean I have to be a door-mat. Committing myself might mean at some time I will have to accept the fact that we might have to split for both our sakes. Love may be blind but committment doesn't have to be !

Thats a total yes its called unconditional love. Be the better person and dont treat them the way they have treated you. In other words, kill them with kindness. You will feel better about yourself if you choose not to act like they do.

yes i believe its that way because when you became totally committed to that certain person ,you were committed to that person and not the one that they have become today.

If they've wronged you and you are still with them it's called codependency not love.
