Yes, I think you can make a real, long lasting friendship over the internet. I say this because I have a friend who I've known for 6 years whom I met over the internet. We met because ,at the time, we were both big fans of the Backstreet Boys and she was a member of a Yahoo group about them that I owned. One day she emailed me and we've been emailing each other ever since. She was 16 and I was 25 when I met her. Even though we are no longer BSB fans we're still good friends. We've never met, but I have seen pictures of her and she's seen pictures of me. She really is a great friend!!

It can be a long lasting friendship if you both want to. "cause I've been talking to this guys for about a year now. Just be yourself and be honest. But he was trying to ask me to be his BF this I don't think will work because first of all we're far away from each other and second of all how can you have a bf and never see him face to face. So, all depends on you too wether you want it to last or not.

I thing you can find real, loong and lasting friendship over the web as such its the media but we make it bad or good by its usages and its depends upon us how much we trust each others.

I had one of those relationships over the web, I didnt work out..it only lasted about 11 days. You end up heart broken over someone you dont know alot about..please take my advice and dont do it!

yes, i met my husband in a yahoo chatroom! we chatted for about 5 or 6 months, exchanged pics and viewed each other's cam and then met in person and pretty much never left each other's side since meeting. it is very possible and common. just be truthful with each other about EVERYTHING and talk on the phone a lot before you meet.

I think that if you guys are really truthful and tell each other what is real, and no lies and you develope feelings then yes it can be a lasting friendship
