I don't care what color the pres is! I just wish for a good one... Black or female would be the next step for the presidency but with this country it'll take a while!

First of all, not everyone voted for Bush!!! And second, 'Would you prefer a non-qualified person leading the country just because of his/her ethnic background?? Not every Black person that ran for President, was qualified!!! So why put them in the same class? Colin Powell was probably our most credible choice, but he didn't accept the nomination at the request of his wife, and the fact that he didn't want to deal with the corruption in Government!!! It's funny how every White person I asked said they would vote for Powell if he ran, but the majority of Blacks response was, "I wouldn't vote for an, "UNCLE TOM"!!! What's up with that??? So let's not get it twisted! There is rumor that Senator Barack Obama from Illinois would be a powerful candidate for President. Not only that, I bet he could win!! I, and most Blacks I asked never heard of Barack Obama and guess what??? A white women told me about him. She said, "she would vote for him in a heartbeat". That race thing is gettin old!!! Yeah, some real bad stuff happened to us, but I think it's time to stop whining and move on!!!

First of all, not all whites are men. Secondly, don't type in all caps. Third, yes, you are referring to all white people. Fourth, you are the racist here, not I.
Edit: I just wanted to add that although Bush isn't doing the best job, he's doing his personal best, I'm sure. Oh, and, as other answerers have stated, we don't "hire" presidents, and most of us would, in fact, vote for someone whom has a different ethnicity if they were qualified.

I think Barbara Jorden would have been a great president. Unfortunately the U.S. wasn't ready for a black woman. Watch Barak Oboma from Illinois. Sorry if I miss spelled his name. He's a fresh man so to soon for him to run. But he's a comer. He's an African American. But that is not the reason I like him. I like him because he is a smart man and truly has the wellfare of the country and the people in his heart. I hope you don't vote for a person because of the color of his skin. Just for the record, I am a 63 yr. old white man who lives in St. Louis and color never swayed my vote. But Colon Powell was not the right man. He was to close to that nit wit dubbya. He should never have taken that job as sec. of state.

I don't see any black men worthy of President that are in the running. I did not vote for Bush, and I don't vote based on a person's color. All politicians are in the pockets of the big corporations and therefore will never have the interest of the American people at heart.

Well I will tell you this...I didn't vote for "Hitler Bush"..and I would vote for a black man if qualified, in a heart beat!!! I may have been guilty of "seeing all white" in my youth(based on ignorance which generations had passed down)...Haven't seen all white since my Beautiful Brown grandchildren came along!!! In fact, I see no color at all.

A black person will definitely one day be president...people never thought women would be able to vote or join the military. Definitely in time a black person will be in the White House. Look at Barrack Obama. I would vote for that guy in two seconds.

A very racist question. If a black man ran for president I would consider him the same as any other. If he were a good candidate I would vote for him. I liked Colin Powell, too bad he didn't run.

It has nothing to do with black and white. If Gen. Power run for Pres. I bet he will win. But, he is smart as well by knowing run for the whiteHouse, he will inherit the impossible task that Bush left behind. The messes may take decades to clean. Remember, he is repubican, that would only bring down republican party to new level of low. Therefore, I would say whoever run for the next Pres. is someone out of his/her mind. That's would be Democrats candidates. This call the curse of Republican Party.

I would have voted for Colin Powell. He met the Constitutional requirements for the office and he had a lot of respect from leaders from around the world. The reason he didn't run (so I understand) was because he respected his family's wishes.
I would have voted for Elizabeth Dole. She also met the Constitutional requirements and was experienced in government activities. Plus she had a heck of an advisor for a husband.
To me, it's the qualifications, not necessarily the person. Frankly, I felt sorry for Dan Quayle in getting selected for an office that was above his capabilities.
BTW, please check on the term "Godwin's Law" before your next use of the word "Hitler". You can cross-reference it with Usenet.
