You will have to do an undergraduate degree first and then graduate work in veterinary school.

You need a BS before you can be accepted into Veterinary School. The BS is a Bachelor of Science and you can take pre-vet courses....like at S.U.N.Y. Delhi (New York) and then go for your Veterinarian degree/license at a Vet School. That is if you are accepted. You need to have close to a 4.0 average in your undergraduate work to be accepted to one of these highly competitive schools and there aren't that many of them. Good Luck...my sister (an honor student in high school) graduated with her BS and could not get into Veterinary School....she became a microbiologist and is researching a cure for cancer.

I work for a university (in Canada) and you need to take undergraduate courses in pre-veterinary medicine and then apply to a veterinary school. You don't necessarily need an undergraduate degree, you may be able to apply after a 2 year prevet program.
These are really hard to get into, but if you really want it then go for it!

you will need to get your undergraduate degree then go to med school. it is considered practicing medicine to be a veterinarian. my friend went to Cornell to be a vet - I heard it's a great school. I highly recommend it. Also, my vet went there too. If you have the chance, maybe you should try to shadow a vet or something so that you can try out the experience and understand what is really involved. Then they can also explain what the medical component is and why you need to attend so much school.

I believe that that would require graduate school. My best advice to you is to contact the school(s) you're interested in and find out the typical curriculum for someone going into veterinary medicine.

Graduate. Almost definately. Vet and medicine in general require a lot of training and hard work.

becoming a vet is a graduate school thing. if you are still an undergrad, i recommend you get the highest grades possible since admissions is very competitive for vet school. i've heard horror stories about admissions.

I've also heard that veterinary school is harder to get into than medical school since their are alot fewer places that teach it.
