I haven't had my period at all this year. Last one I had was right before the new year, I was about 3 months pregnant at the time, and I thought it was a miscarriage, but since having my son I haven't had a single one. I've never been all that regular, and I was on the depo-vera shot (spelling?) last year, so that could be it. It really doesn't bother me too much, I kind like not having one, but will this cause health problems later in life?

Definitely see a doctor. Could be PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), but then again it could be the shot. I have PCOS, never get my period, and my doc says I need to have one at least every 6 mos. I've been told that not having one could mean that your lining is very thick, and that has a high risk of cancer. So see a doc so he can check you out.

Studies have shown that women develop issues with heart disease more so after menopause. I do not know if this applies to you since you aren't exactly menopausal, but since your body has taken on a menopausal state, it's definitely something to think about. Hope this sheds some light on your question!

My mom said that it will but I am on the Mirena and my doctor said that I run a 50/50 chance of not having one at all until I get it removed.

Are you nursing? Sometimes when your nursing your period is delayed. Have you seen your gyobyn since having your baby? If not, make an appointment and get checked out. I hope you are fine.
