Yup! There aren't any "United Caucasian Funds" are there? And if there was, then it would be considered racist!!

The United ***** College Fund was developed by WHITE REPUBLICANS and BLACK REPUBLICANS to help inner city, disenfranchised youth.

President George W. Bush's Grandfather, Senator Prescott Bush, was an early supporter of the United ***** College Fund and also served as its Connecticut Chairman in the early 1950's.

I suggest you take a close look at the history of the program.

And no, ***** is not insulting unless I were to hear it used by bigots.

BTW, there also exists a NAAWP which is a mockery of the NAACP - they don't actually do anything execept spew more racial hatred.

It is not a racist organization at all. It is just an organization that is geared towards improving the lives of young African Americans. That's it. Its been around for over 60 years. So, it was started in a time where there were not many opportunities for African Americans. And, it is actually open to students of ANY color. But, the primary focus is on African Americans.

I'm sure the term "*****" in this particular instance was not used in a derogatory sense. And, 60 years ago, that was a common term that was used. I don't see them changing the name just to be politically correct. So, in this particular situation "*****" is not considered to be offensive. BUT, yeah... in any other situation I don't think that term is should be used.

And as far as the United Caucasian College fund... come on now... there are PLENTY of organizations that just cater towards white people. They may not blatantly put it out there like that. But, I'm sure that there are many scholarship funds that have granted scholarships to white people, and none to black people. It may not be race based... but I'm sure it happens. And that is fine. We have one organization and its racist???? That is ignorant.

No and no.

UNCF provides an opportunity for those so inclined to gift minority students with a scholarship, and for diverse educational institutions to survive.I've known non-black, non-minority and even white students who have gone to and graduated from UNCF schools, so there's nothing racist about it.

And no, I can't think of anyone or any reason why the word '*****' would be considered offensive. It's been an accepted descriptive term for people of color who originated in Africa for many years.

The United ***** College Fund is within legal guidelines because race-based preferential treatment is allowed to make up for past discrimination, it's a genuine attempt for underprivileged students to get money needed for college., plus, there are other minority college funds

no, it is an organization that promotes education for the African American populace. It has no ill intent and promotes equality for people who need extra financial help and was founded during a time where there were no other oppurtunities or organizations that helped black people. It may seem racist now in this new age of "eqaulity" but basically holds the basic tenants of its original goals.

Any organization that provides help to students on the basis of race would be a racist organization.

I don't know if that word is offensive to blacks.

"Do you understand what I'm saying?" Sometime you have to be on guard no matter who it's coming from. I don't think it's anything like the KKK

Yes, it is racist. It doesn't matter if White Republicans created it or the Black Panthers. It is racist and should be destroyed.
