This question slightly resembles your last question where you were attempting to reconnect with your brother whom you hadn’t spoken to for 11 years, and with whom you wanted to catch up on the brother/sister relationship you were deprived of.
I am finding myself questioning how genuine you are with this current question, but will still endeavour to help you…
I will hit you with a question to start with though… Why did you marry your husband, and have children to him, if you didn’t love him???
You said that the man you fell in love with 15 years ago was the only one you have ever truly loved!!!
OK… assuming you are genuine, I would strongly suggest you don’t rush into things. Just because he said he never stopped loving you, doesn’t mean he is being honest. A lot happens in a person’s life over a period of fifteen years! Perhaps he has been (or maybe still is) married. If that was the case, I would be wondering why he married someone else, if he supposedly loved you!!!
If he loves you as he said he does, how hard has he tried to contact you over the past fifteen years??? Likewise, how hard have you tried to contact him???
You have been through an eight year bad marriage… Perhaps the main reason it turned so bad, was because your feelings toward your husband were not what they were supposed to be!!! Throughout your marriage, how often (if at all) did you think of this other man? Perhaps your husband picked up on those feelings!!!
The first part of your question was… Do you believe in Soul Mates?
Yes I do!!!
Is your first love your soul mate… Probably not!!!
All I can really suggest, is that you forget about finding soul mates, until you have perhaps done some ‘soul searching’!!!

I ended up pissing a lot of people off to be with my guy but it was totally worth it. We have been together 5 years and I just knew at the time that I should do it and I have never looked back even once.
I don't know your whole situation, but if you truly love this man in your gut and you know it is right, then you should do it.

Yes. I believe in soul mates. I married mine.
Were you and your husband talking about divorcing before you started talking to the other man? Weigh out how this is going to affect your children.

I don't care for this term "soul mates". I think it's "mutual infatuation". If this guy is so in love with you, let him pick himself up and move closer to you. Don't uproot your kids and disturb your life (and theirs) for what might be a better life. Think with your head, not your heart.

I believe in multiple soul mates -- I think anyone can be one....a parent, a friend, a partner....and all for different reasons!!

Soulmates do exist. I let mine go and I've never been happy since.
My advice......stay in contact but think this out before jumping.
Goodluck.
