Adderal XR I would say takes about 15-30 mins to begin to kick in. The XR stands for extended release. What an Asthetically pleasing pill

adderall xr takes effect anytime from 30 to 1 hr. from experience

It works within an hour and lasts 24 hours....my son is on 5mg and I noticed a difference in his ability to attend. His appetite is off (because of this med) and I feed him every time he's interested in food....He takes it with food (chocolate pudding) because it aids in the distribution of the drug.
