In order to open a store online would I have to have a business tax number? If so can I obtain one online?

Your business address is within whatever state you reside. You'll need to get all the necessary documentation, licenses and such. Most states do have on-line capability to help you get the materials you need and to provide assistance. Depending on your state, check with the Treasurer or Comptroller of your state.
