When looking into getting into a Career path and studies i would really research the jobs. They may not be what you want.

Do an informational interview with 2 people or more in those positions.
Call up a good company and ask to speak to a lawyer or an Electrical Engineer. Ask the person if you could book an appointment to do an informational interview as you are looking into becoming a lawyer.
It has worked for me in the past and most people are happy to talk about them self's and their career choice.
When you meet have a set of question's written down to ask. How much they make, which school they attended, how did they get the job ect....

Good luck!

If you want to have a family and a life be an electrical engineer. Also, if you are a good one, you may get to travel to some far away places if employed by a huge corporation which sends its employees places to help set up their products. Like GE setting up turbines in Bangladesh and such.

You would be better served contacting a student councilor at the institution you wish to attend. They will be able to evaluate your high school transcript and let you know what you are suited to study, and maybe even suggest a new field that we here have never considered. Good luck!

If you like arguing and you are good at it, if you are good with words and are able to write impeccable English, if you don't mind dealing with angry and violent people, if you don't mind ignoring the plight of others (when they are not your client, and sometimes even when they are)- be a lawyer. Otherwise if you are good at electronics be an electronic engineer - it's less stressful.

I thought about being an attorney, but I was told one day the ratio of attorneys to other jobs is going to be 12:1.
