PLEASE tell me about Myspace?

Im thinking about getting a myspace so I can communicate with my friends, and my friends only. Any important information I should know before I get an account? I want to have a private profile where I dont get any invites from people that are not my friends. I only want my friends to see my profile and I dont want other myspace users to find my profile. Please help :)

Ok. You can not stop anybody from inviting you as your friend. You can however choose to denie them and block them. For you wanting your myspace to be private.. follow these steps below.

1.) Log in.
2.) Go to your home page. (Page that shows the amount of views on your site, and your default picture. Your main page, not the one everybody else sees.)
3.) Look in the upper left hand corner, and click on "Account Settings"
4.) Scroll Down to the 5th option and it should say "Privacy Settings"
5.) Click on "Change Settings"
6.) Scroll all the way down until you can't go down any farther.
7.) Under "Who can view my full profile" Click the circle next to "My friends only"

After doing this, no-one can see your page in full display, they can however see only your default picture, and the Box where it says

~Send message
~Add to friends
~Instant Message
~Add to Group
~Forward to friend
~Add to favorites
~Block User
~Rank User

and since they can see that, they can add you to friends, and you will get a message saying "So and So would like to be your friend" It gives you a choice to accept or deny them. So if you don't know them, just click deny, and problem solved.

myspace gives you the options of keeping your profile private and only viewable by your friends so that's not a problem there. but even though people can't see your profile, they can still try to add you as a friend or send you notes/messages. just simply delete and ignore them i guess. myspace is a good place to keep in touch with friends.. i've even found my friends from my childhood.

ps. no need to set your age to under 15 to be private anymore.. click on the link to my profile below as an example.

I really like MySpace & I think it would be a great way to keep in touch with friends & family, & only them, if that's the way you want to do it. They have private settings. If you need any help, ask, maybe I can help. Good luck!

There are ways to break the "private" setting on myspace - a popular trick for pedophiles. I just saw a show last night on CNN that said "myspace is a pedophile's dream come true."

I have a myspace, and you cant realy block other users, unless you put your age that your under 14. there WILL be people that will want to be your friends even though you dont know them. your have the choise of weither or not you want them as a friend. your first friend will be Tom, everyone has him(he invented myspace)

myspace is the best
you can change settings to make your profile private to only be seen by who you want to.
its really cool you can do alot of stuff with it
if someone requests you you can acept or deny and if you accept they will be able to see your profile.
you can just deny them itz easy and fun. with the stuff you can do to send to friends and make people laugh. you should get one i think its the best site like that you can use. do more than just talk. like watch videos. listen to music. comedy and groups and events and schools and every thing

Hi! Well, I just updated mine today. There is a place where when filling out your account thingy, you can click on who you want to be able to see your space. I clicked on messenger and friends only. That way, not everyone on the internet can have access to your account. There's a few options that you can choose from! Have fun!

Lie about your age to make it private, say your 14. Don't post any personal information about yourself, it seems like common sense but people still do it all the time.

Don't go overboard with the HTML, that can be a ***** for others.

My space is awesome but not because of only talking to friends but meeting new people!!! u can find any long lost friends on it its awesome!!!!.. and you can set ur profile to private and you can chhoose who u want to be your friend but u meet so many new ppl!!!!!!!!

You should try hi5. It's a really kewl place too. MySpace sends to many, well nasty things to you.
I have an account, but I don't get on much. It doesn't appeal to me all that much.
