Absolutely no teams need to be moved. If it's one thing the NHL needs it's some stability and uprooting teams is not going to provide that! Leave the teams be and let them build some history. Sure the Coyotes may not have a huge fanbase yet but give them time. They play in the 5th largest city in the US, if they have some success and compete year after year, they will build a strong loyal fanbase. It takes a lot of time, you need a generation of people to experience winning hockey, that doesn't happen in 3, 5 or even10 years (Colorado is rare case). Given the new CBA, the future looks very bright for the NHL and it's smaller market teams. The "new" NHL has had enough with the makeovers, it's time to stop the tinkering and leave it alone for godsake!!!

There are multiple teams to move.
1. Phoenix - there is no hope in the desert. They need to go back to Winnipeg who are ready, willing and able to support the Jets again.
2. Anaheim - it's true, LA is enough for these people. Anaheim is too far away and not enough people in the area like hockey enough to go. Of course, unless it is the playoffs, but it is still possible to get tickets. Not a real hockey town. Move them to Portland.
3. Nashville, Columbus, and Atlanta - these 3 teams should be contracted and rolled up into one. Together they maybe would equal a sell out at the Joe. Would also make competition in the league much better with 3 less teams. Plus, less needless travel.
4. Don't move the San Jose Sharks. They are a huge part of the post dot com era. They are heavily supported in the area and will one day be a place that sells out consistently.

Lets move Florida to Quebec, Carolina back to Hartford where they do belong, Columbus to Kansas City, Atlanta to Winnipeg. As NHL Comissioner, I would undo everything Gary Bettman has ever done for the NHL and start bringing the fans back and I would get a real TV contract with ESPN. No more griping!!!

I would move the Coyotes to Quebec, I mean name me one hockey thing quebec doesnt have?
Ice? yes
Talent? yes
Competition? Of course, the Habs
Stadium? No offense, but Quebec has the most hockey stadium in the North America
Sponsors: Well more than the coyotes
And last FANS? Dont even go there, they breath on hockey
Now for the coyotes:
Place: stuck in the middle of the desert, who wants to play hockey?
Talent? lol, maybe when Gretzky puts on his skates
Fans: attendance per match, 26th in the league
Now Pittsburgh would also make a great place, considering Mario, Fleury, and about a dozen guys, WHO ARE ALL BORN IN QUEBEC, EXCEPT FOR THAT 87

still the Pens might leave and they might end up in Kansas City, but i really believe they should bring them back to Canada maybe Winnipeg or Quebec. Kansas City had a team a long time ago and hockey doesn't work there the Scouts where a terrible team, the Jets and the Nordiques where getting better but needed a bigger arena that's why they left, well Bettman you gave Minnesota the chance to move to Dallas and let them build a new arena and then brought them back to Minnesota wild well bring back are teams we have the arenas.

caniac_girl_12 >>>>>>>>>Montreal Canadiens is hockey sweetheart get a life and no your history about the game. you are not a real hockey fan and no crap about the game so don't even bother answering questions about hockey.

I agree with David L in that the league needs to contract. In answer to your question, I'd say Anaheim to Winnipeg since LA has a team and Manitobans need a team. I mean, except for a few diehard hockey fans, why show up to a Ducks game? Quiche? Movie deal? Tickets the boss doesn't want? To laugh at the most unintimidating nickname in America?

Pittsburgh should be moved. They have a good young team or at least the potential to be and still do not draw with arguably the best young player in hockey. I would like to see Winnipeg get them. They would be able to compete with the new agreement and the city would embrace them. I wish that they had built an arena that was a little bigger, but it would still be an upgrade over what they gave now. They will probably end up in Ohio though.

Anaheim or San Jose
Because California has too many NHL teams for a state where three quarters of the population don't know what hockey is.
Winnipeg
Now they know hockey and they have an excellent arena,Winnipeg arena, for NHL games to be played in.

First, everyone needs to quit hating on the Ducks, because they are the best team in California right now. And whoever said either the Ducks or Sharks need to go doesn't realize that the Ducks are the Southern Cali team and the Sharks are the Northern Cali team.

As for who needs to move, the Red Wings should either be moved farther west or join the Eastern Conference.

The Coyotes should move to somewhere that isn't a desert.

What does everyone have against my Penguins? Pittsburgh loves their team. Oh and IF they move it is going to be to Kansas City, and anyone NOT believing that should look closer at the person who signed the letter of intent to purchase. There is all the reason to believe they would go to KC if they move. As to teams that should move, I agree about Tampa Bay or Florida. Come on two teams in Florida don't sound right. Phenoix doesn't sound right. Also I say get rid of Anahiem. Come on you have enough other teams in Cali, and we should get rid of the one with the stupidest name. Columbus is another great canidate to be moved, after all who hears of them? Does anyone really care about them?

Oh and the complaint that the Penguins "don't draw" look at their record. We can sit at home and watch the games on Fox Sports Pittsburgh. So it isn't that the games aren't being watched.

Hockey Freak if you knew Pennsylvania you would know that the Penguins fans AREN'T going to like the Flyers. Pittsburgh and Philly don't like each other's teams. It is the Eastern Half of the State vs. the Western half of the State. If you want to go by multiple teams let's see Florida has two, proably closer togther. New York has THREE. California has THREE. So there you go two States that should lose one based on the logic you are offering. Also remember how close LA and Anaheim are. I say get rid of the Ducks cause I prefer the name Kings. I just think ONE of them need to go.
