When I was growing up, it was so less complicated than now. Females were not judged on the size of their breasts, or how big their hips were, or whether they had a crooked nose or thin lips. There is so much pressure on girls to be physically perfect, in a world that also requires them to be better than men in order to succeed in the business world, without making any mistakes. I feel like women today, starting at a very early age, are not allowed to be themselves. They have to be Angelina Jolie, or somebody equally as unrealistic. It truly is sad.

because they are taught self-esteem these days instead of self-respect. It is truly saddening, but everyone is given a choice

Back in the day,all kids had a lot more respect for their self, but with the change of the times ....kids with out the same rules.... I grew up with..you respect all people..no labels........tooo bad it's not like that anymore ...

It is sad. I think music today is not conducive to self respect. Also how they are treated at home is key to feeling good about yourself. That is a good question, and a very thought provoking one.

Whether your a man or woman,when someone has little respect for themselves or others,it's because they have low self-esteem.

well you better back up your statement otherwise i dont believe you. To say the truth i have self respect and for those women who dont then they should know they are making the weaker sex more weak

Because they weren't brought up with self-respect,values, morals nor dignity. It's a shame.
