If you are over age then just do it, it's your body, not your mom's.
If not, then I would suggest researching it all you can and presenting your case in a calm manner. If she knows that you've actually put thought and effort into it, she might be more open to you getting one.
I personally think that tattoos are a unique expression of personal identity, unlike some others who have answered. I went to college and my mom got a "tramp stamp", but didn't know the "meaning". She just got a classy celtic knot and liked that spot. Tattoos mean different things to different people. I am getting one soon, but I'm getting it to remind me of who I am, and how I got to where I am.
If you really want it, don't let ignorance of others deter you. If your mom says no, wait and get it when you're older. It'll mean that much more.

you shouldn't pursuade her! tatoos are bad for ur skin. The way they work is take a needle and go up underneath your skin and put ink in it. They are also permanent and fade. S dont get one. you are probably too young to get it anyways if u have to ask your mom.

well if you are young enough where you have to ask a parent then you are too young for a tattoo. Take the time until you are of age to decide on the design and placement and how it could effect your life so when you are of age you will be ready.

Hopefully your mom is smarter than you and you can't. I am sure she doesn't want a low class daughter with a tramp stamp. She probably thinks she raised you better, but she is obviously mistaken.
When you turn 18 you can mutilate your body with an "I was too stupid to think straight and got a disfiguring injection in my body" sign of approval, if you're still that immature and feel you need to follow the low class crowd.

Not a good idea. You'll get tired of it sooner or later. It will keep you out of some social circles and limit you job opportunities. Styles and tastes change. I bought an antique chair for around 2 grand ... about a year ago ... I'm tired of it already ... at least I can sell it.

Just wait until your eighteen, if you still want one then get one. Remember their for a lifetime, at least very expensive to get rid of.
