The Iraqi war is a good move and it is a costly mistake at the same time. First, we all know that Bush sold us the Iraqi war. As he said "The Invasion of Iraq, has nothing to do with the 9/11 attack". Saddam was only a threat to Saudi Arabia and Israel. Saddam was also a threat to our US dollar value only (not to us). Saddam decided and did exchange the oil transactions with Euros. We just can't afford that. So Bush removed Saddam and that's an excellent move. Bush now can control Iraqis and Saudis oil production closely. Nice move indeed!. Bush now in Iraq, can monitor the Europpean Union and the Islamic Fundamentalists countries from getting too powerful. We must make sure we will stay the most powerful country on this planet! Unfortunately, Bush's administration did not have a good plan to invade Iraq. They did not anticipate that Kurds, Shiits and Sunnis will start fighting fiercefully. They did not expect that the coalition will start breaking appart so soon. Bush did not expect that he will loose control of Iraq, the production of oil and the rebuilding of Iraq. This was a huge mistake on Bush's part. Now I wonder what democracy is Bush talking about in Iraq! How could they have a democracy in Iraq and their constitution is partially based on the Quran. Their PM MR Al-Maliki is a fanatic fundamentalist muslim who denounced Israel and praised Hezbollah. Women in Iraq still don't have any freedom or right. Hatred among different sects and conflicts will never go away in Iraq. So, this democracy Theory is so wrong and it will never sustain in Iraq. If this is Bush's intention, then it is a mistake unless he is playing dumb to justify his wrong doing.

the war in Iraq was building from 911, food for oil, and all the controversy that was happening at that time. Islamics were out of control and basically studying under Osama Bin Laden, training in Al-quada camps. Smuggling into the United States Islamics of ves. This was going on since 1997, Islamics were coming into the US from Morrocco selling passports obtained illegally and on the black market. Every Islamic was from Casablanca Morrocco in the year 2000. The war was coming. Saddam just insured it ended up in Iraq. Saddam Hussein was another dictator who was pushing buttons
in the Islamic world. Stealing monies from the oil for food, killing mass persons etc. The war ended up in Iraq to save the war from
being in the US. There is so much more people do not know about the war and terrorists. Hezbollah has been infiltrating this country for almost a decade. To do as Hamas in Palastian. The islamic extremist believe that they should be the choosen ones
Americans are fat, Americans are stupid, these are just a few choice phrases. It is an attitude of defiance to Americans and Civilizations that have worked hard to endure and have an economic structure that benefits their people that they want to get their hands on. As the choosen ones. It is an ideology of Extremist. A war was on the brink. Do you remember all the things al-quada did to persons in the war zone. Kidnapping and
beheadings. These were the persons entering our country.
There is so much more to this situation than people know. Islamic attitude is a big mistake. That is the message we send.
We also have begun to rebuild northern Iraq in case you have not
seen that footage in the news. Iraqi;s thank the US, it is the political redrick of persons without a clue that keeps up the negativity; or we would probably been out by now of Iraq.now tell me do you still think we should do nothing Peace. Salamme.

It was from the beginning, only it has cost thousands of lives , billions of dollars and finally global disgust with Bush's policies.
He admits now, that he and his administration have made a mistake. How big of him, It does no good now to the peoples who are full of grief.
J. Aravosis, . Wash Post.
"This war is an absolute disaster. Things have gotten so bad that the Leader of the Iraqi Parliament is calling us 'butchers. That kind of rhetoric is fueling the insurgency, and will help fuel the Iraqi people's anger, and mistrust of American troops and make their jobs even harder. The message that the Iraqi Speaker is sending is that the US military is out of control and out of HIS control. It's a small step between that kind of implication and calling us outright occupiers.
"George Bush has failed. The war in Iraq is over. Bush lost. Prolonging our presence will only lead to more death and hatred, on all sides. Yes, an American withdrawal will be a disaster, but an American commitment to stay will be a lasting disaster of epic proportion'
"The ambassador and the general were briefing me on the—the vast majority of Iraqis want to live in a peaceful, free world. And we will find these people and we will bring them to justice."—Washington, D.C., Oct. 27, 2003
Remember when Bush said a few months ago that we would gradually reduce the troops in Iraq?
This the latest:
WASHINGTON – With a continuing demand for forces and mounting casualty tolls in Iraq, the Marine Corps announced Tuesday it would involuntarily activate up to 2,500 reservists who chose not to join a drilling unit when they left active duty.
The Army has called up about 14,000 IRR members, but thousands of the former service members could not be found or refused to respond to the recall orders.

Absolutely. If I thought that Saddam had WMD's and was an immediate threat or was directly involved in 9/11 then I would support the initial invasion. But neither one of those was or is true and now we are stuck in exactly the kind of situation our leaders told us would not occur. I don't understand how anyone can deny that things have gone seriously wrong when thousands of Iraqi's are protesting in favor of Hezbollah and against the continued US presence. The worst part about this whole mess is the invasion and "liberation" of Iraq has not made us any safer.
By the way. Regarding the idea of "fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here". Did anyone ask the Iraqi's if they were willing to die in our place?

No. Iraq is the perfect strategic location to pick the battlefield. It's in the middle of Iran and Syria. To the right of Iran is Afghanistan. Poeticaly it looks like..... - + - + -
Some people just dont get it. We can goto war against Iran from two different sides. With our Navy battle ships in the MED we can fight Syria from both sides to.
Going to war in Iraq was no mistake. It was a very well thought out plan.

Big one. Makes me think we didn't learn anything from the Vietnam, Yugoslavia and Hitler's fighting of a two front war.
I'm surprised the military went in with such a poorly thought out plan to gain the hearts and minds.
A boob could have seen the potential civil war. "potential" I use the term loosely, only because it hasn't been call yet. What a mess.
I think SOMEONE needs to at least audit History 101.

i believe ALL wars are mistakes. i don't know what we could have done to 'tell' iraq that they cannot come over here and destroy things (like 9/11) besides go to war that they could understand, but, yes, i feel it is a horrible mistake

No. Status-quo in the Middle East was not survivable for the US. We may fail in our attempt to democratize the Mid-east. But if we do fail, we're done.I'm amazed that so many Americans are willing to take the whole thing as a joke and engage in all this moronic partisan politicizing of the whole thing.

If it were not being fought there, we would have it in our own back yard.. Is that a good alternative.. It is still coming to us but in a more indirect way..I don't know what it is going to take for people to realize this is a world dominating process that is being attempted.. to not accept it as a war is beyond anyone's comprehension. They are intent on making Islam a one world religion.. Either you join or you die.. Not much fo a choice, is there?

For the love of god.... I'll answer this one more time....maybe If I type slowly enough I can make you all understand..... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..... It is not a mistake. We are there for a noble cause...... and we will be there until the Iraqi people can govern themselves in a free and democratic way. .... It is the right thing to do. It is the humane thing to do..... It is the American thing to do. So all you liberals should just shut the F...K up and stop trying to thwart our efforts over there. Stop concentrating on the problems and start looking at all of the positive things going on right now in Iraq and make no mistake..... the good will eventually be victorious over the evil. God bless the USA
