I work in a corporate environment where I’m about one of three African American males in an office of about one hundred employees of every other group combined, but more Whites than all other groups. It is basically a very comfortable and friendly environment although it is not perfect. But I’ve noticed, sometimes the Black Women in the office would make some of the most racist and insulting comments about the White culture, White employees, White communities, or just White people in general. The two other African American Males and I don’t even make such comments or statements amongst our selves. But I noticed that the White employees in the office tend to not notice, or act as if they don’t notice these African American Women making these comments. But what is even more baffling is when I or one of the other African American Male don’t agree with every conservative viewpoint or perspective in the office, some of the White Males in particular tend to get very offended and show insecurity. I often wondered why our simple disagreements are more important than other people who make blatant racial comments (including the use of the word cracker).

Maybe they are more intimidated by you because you are male and they are less intimidated by the ladies because they are female. Maybe they see the ladies comments as a joke .

Exactly why my brother Jake & me steered clear of corporate America. In the r&b world, there is no color, only chops. When Willie "Too Tall" Hall counts off the beat, all baggage is left at the terminal and the love flows like wine, and nobody is worried about anything but the groove.

We had a lot of hardships growing up, me & Jake, and I guess we just learned to trust what's inside a man more that his appearance. You've got some soul problems, brother, and the prescription is r&b. Kick back with your old lady and put on some
Harold Melvin. If I had you on tour for 1 week you would strut in and own your office the following Monday.

I often think about Otis Redding. He was hitting his stride in a big way. He just recorded Dock of the Bay after a great showing at the Monterray Pop Festival. Three days later, his plane went down and I lost a great friend, and the world lost a great talent. What am I saying? If you have a story to tell, tell it now and don't let anybody or anything put you down. You've got a great heritage behind you, now go and make them proud.

How do the three ladies act towards the white males when they are each alone and not in the company of the other two. Are they business like in their manner and respectful to their bosses? They cant be as rude as they are to the other people or they would lose their positions.I don't understand that attitude ,my husbands company had a small similar problem a few years ago, with two Hispanic woman who insisted on speaking only Spanish to each other in the work place although both are US born and had a great command of English. My husband who can speak several languages including Spanish surprised them one day by joining their conversation and told them in Spanish that they had to speak English while on company grounds, there was never any problem after that, and they still work at our company.
perhaps you could speak to the ladies and remind them that in a business setting that respect for others is essential for a good working environment.
As for the white men taking offense and thinking you are challenging them if you don't agree, try prefacing your argument with a small compliment, then say you don't agree with their ideas or plans,a little corporate sugar makes disagreement easier to swallow
