Not sure. My doctor has told me buy OTC.

If it is over the counter you can just buy it without a doctors visit. I work in a doctors office and we often do tell people to get over the counter medicines. The cost of name brand prescriptions are out of control and I hope that something can be done.

Because they get a stipend for prescribing the high prices brands. The generic also do not have the sales budget to convince doctors that they are just as good. We are a victim of powerful marketing. You can ask your doctor if there are any cheaper alternatives.

Give a few examples of Rx meds that can be purchased less expensively OTC. I'd like to know what you're basing this question on.

I listen to my doctor cause i flumked out of med school - I was going to be an Ob-Gyn but i ate my final exam !!!!!!!! They know more then I know for sure .

Doctors and pharmaceutical companies work together. So, that would be less $$$$.
