My shoe was stuck in a big piece of gum that someone just decided to spit onto the sidewalk the other day, and it was stuck very well...so well, in fact, that I could not get out of this sticky situation alone. I had to ask strangers for help for about 30 minutes before one was kind enough to help me.

How do you ask for help when this happens to you? Is there a trick to find help quicker than I did?

I am wondering just in case this ever happens to me again.

Chew some gum yourself, spit it out close to where you're stuck. Wait till someone passerby gets stuck. Then you help each other out.

You could act like somethig is about to hit you and tell someone to push you really hard out of the way.

Such inconsiderate people... if worst comes to first, you might have to cut off your foot.
