Until you have at least one year's over the road experience,You will have to start with a larger company as a trainee. If you can handle the equipment you would move up quickly as a second seat of a team or spend a longer time w/a trainer before you move into your own (at least one you call your own) equipment. Due to insurance requirements, only the larger companies that are "self insured" (companies that cover the first 2 to 4 million of an accident claim on their own w/o involvement form the insurance carrier) can hire you. Don't think for a minute they don't exploit this situation.

Schneider is a good company but I think you should check out a small company in southern Indiana that pulls allot of auto parts, National Distributors, INC of Sellersburg, IN. They run Del Rio, TX to Romulus MI. quite a bit, but cover all 48 and Canada also. I started with them many years ago. I didn't always agree with their actions but they were fair and treated the heir drivers pretty well.

Good Luck
