Yes.. a long time ago. Way back when I was about.. must of been 6 years old?.. Phneumonia (however you spell that one). I was gone nearly 2 minutes apparently. No brain damage tho (I hope!!). Ive got to the Master of Science degree level since then and still going strong!
As for the death trip. I hear a lot about the DMT release effect but to be honest I was very young and cannot say I honestly recall anything significiant. However, since I have had a strange parallel with death more times than not. My family reunions I suspect are better placed at the cemetary than at home..
I can even go so far as to say I've stared death in the face... not that death is a some-one.. but there certainly is a very .. almost spiritual break when your staring into the eyes of a dearly loved one and they're staring back at you as they slip away. I felt more touched my death then than anything I can remember before or since. Almost emotionless. Absolute nothingness. Heart-breaking as well and I won't discuss this further.
I'm sure theres been many near-death and died and come back experiences. But I suggest you look into the drug DMT. It is or mimics a drug released naturally at only two moments in a human lifetime: Birth and Death. Many I've discussed it with refer to it as the spirit drug but thats a matter of trying it for yourself I guess. It is a supposed clasified class 1 drug I believe which is apparently the next class up from class A drugs (ie Heroin, Cocaine, etc..). Look it up for yourself. Theres plenty of on-line literature.

Some years ago, when my husband, daughter and self were driving home, we were involved in an accident where a motorbike came speeding up behind us, overtook and ran straight into an oncoming car. He was catipulted in the air and had horrific injuries. We in our car had nowhere to go and the oncoming car hit us head on.
We all had seatbelts on and none of us actually died, but we all had painful injuries.
But with my injuries and the pain associated with it I thought I was dying and I lost consciousness. The next thing I knew I was standing in front of this amazing tunnel and felt that it was an actual living thing. I also had the feeling that it was turned off, so to speak, or not active.
I saw no one, but I seemed to know what it was, then a voice said to me, addressing me by my name and saying - what are you doing here, you are not going to die, stop panicking and being a drama queen, your time will come one day, but until then return and remember the peace and wonderment that you have felt.
Whether it was all in my mind or not, I dont know, but it has remained with me clearly and the feelings I felt have definately changed my life.

When I was 7 years old, I had a brain abcess. I was comatose for about 4 weeks. They planned on doing surgery to remove the abcess, so they were going to do an angiogram to pinpoint its location and wheel me straight into surgery. As I said, I was in a coma, but I remember watching the test--there was a large machine above me, someone was holding my hand, and there were several men standing to one side. But I didn't see it from where my body was lying--I saw it from an upper corner of the room. When I told my father about it, years later, he went white. I had exactly described the machinery, he was holding my hand, and the other men were doctors.

I havent but my dad did. he was actually pronounced medically dead twice after having a bad motorcycle accident when he was younger. He said just like everyone has done he felt like he was drawn to a warm light which at the end had something he can only describe a honey !!! He felt we all went back into this warm substance which he felt was the energy which keeps the universe going. Oh and he wasnt scared at all.

My neighbour, and both grandparents did have this experience, and they are logical, intelligent, and skeptical people by nature. But, one thing is for sure, I have had things happen after my husband passed to cancer. I had some strange things happen w/ the lighting in our house, his way of letting me know he was on the other side perhaps. I also had witnesses during the episode.

A friend of mine died of a drug overdose but came back. Totally transformed him. It is what led him to become a Christian.

Not in the classic, 'tunnel of light' thing. But when I was in Intensive Care once with renal failure I 'saw' the Egyptian God, Anubis.

Not I but my grandmother, when dying, and blind from the cancer, sat up in her bed and said, with eyes huge, "The light...its there." She reached out.
The next morning she died.
