I would declare the Constitution to be the final authority on the limits of the federal government's scope and power, and declare null and void any and all laws that give the federal gov't any powers not explicity stated therein.

Whether or not Congress or the courts go along with that, well, probably not, but it would get Americans to wake up and realize just how bloated government has become.

Oh, well, I would go to my ranch. drink a couple beers, chat with Condi. Phone the Israeli Prime minister and let him in on a new strategy in the works to eliminate Hezbollah and Hamas. The first thing I would do is fire everyone in the cabinet who has a liberal agenda. Next, I would Order the Sixth Fleet's Naval personell carriers to the easter medditerrainian sea then Order my generals to move all american armed forces on those ships. Once a full pull out is underway I would install a reasonable deterant to terrorizm.

How? I would order leaflets to be dropped over every middle eastern city letting everyone know that the next hostile attack aimed at Americans or its allies will result in complete and utter destruction of the attacker's city, and that it would be carried out without warning.

The functions of government ought to be limited to police, courts, national defense, and the house, justice & executive branches.
