It's 6% GST (Grab and Snatch Tax or Goods and Services Tax) Which is the federal tax and then the provinces have their own Sales tax (7-8%) added to that or tax on tax'd to it. The maritimes
have HST (Humungous Sales Tax) which is 14%

The tax rate is so high because Canada supports all of it's citizens, with health care and the like. I would rather pay fewer taxes and not have to depend on the govt for anything. Hey wait, that's what I do now. I earn everything I have. No one has to give it to me.

I read that Canada is the only country that in fact loves paying taxes.
Actually the citizens in Canada are proposing they should pay a 26% tax rate.
But the government its analyzing if they should aprobe or not aprobe this.

because they have brains and can figure out that the government needs money to spend vs borrowing from its programs. Plus they make everyone pay the same no giving the rich tax breaks.
