Go to the health food store and purchase Dr. Lamar's Miracle II Neutralizer (small bottle will do) and a spray bottle. Spray it on the affected areas (OK to get in eyes). It will take the sting out, decrease the chance of blistering, and speed healing without clogging the pores.

Human skin heals at a certain rate. No cream, medicine, or treatment makes it heal faster- but a lot of things can make it heal slower.
To treat a sunburn, first get out fo the sun. Next, cool the burnt area with plenty of cool water. The healing will not start until the cells are all back to their normal temperature, which will take a little while. No lotion or ointment will help this process- and since most of them can trap heat in, they can actually delay the healing!
Peeling is a normal part of the process and indicates healing is occuring.
Now- what you want is to look like no sunburn occured, a totally different situation.
I'd go with make-up and carefully chosen clothing. That way, once the photo is done, you can wash the stuff off and go back to letting things heal with minimal damage.
BAD IDEAS:
- Aloe. Aloe has no medicinal benefit for the skin. Its ONLY good point is that it is mostly water- expensive water! Fresh aloe is an astringant and will sting like blazes- and damages new cells! processed aloe shrinks as it dries, which hurts and also damages new tissues.
- Vinegar. This works by being a cooling liquid, AND by irritating the nerves and tricking them into thinking that there is less pain. The high acidity slows the new cell growth and it can also damage the new tissues.
- Lotions of any kind. Lotion helps moisturise mostly by blocking evaporation. It works best on moist skin (after a bath, etc.) when it can trap the moisture in the sin. It does not work well on dry skin, and on a burn it will trap the heat in. After the burn is totally gone, you can use lotion after a shower to trap moisture and keep the skin from drying out- but that will not help the actual healing.
Because subnburns are so common, and cause so much cosmetic concern, there are a million folk remedies for them- most of which really don't work to help heal the burn but temproarily hide some parts of the process- covering the intial pain, changing the peeling process, etc. most of this occurs at the cost of lengthening the actual healing.
Save time and money- use water and common sense.

Aloe vera gel 100%. You can buy a big bottle at most stores for $1-2. Slather on as much as you can stand. It gets kind of sticky like glue, and if your sunburn hurts, it can get kind of annoying, but it will heal it.

to soothe the sun burn put aloe vera lotion or gel. Use a mild body scrub every other day to slough off the dead skin and also to polish your skin. You should be fine in another 8-10 days time.... do take care not to venture out into hot sun without your sun protection.

ignore it, i'm not kidding, if you don't treat it specially it will go away faster
mainly because normal wear will get it worn off more painlessly than drawing the healing time out with care
no this won't wear off the tan, but stick to non-uv tanning
tanning is acually damage to skin, the darker skin just trys to prevent more, so its not good
