A good technician can tell you if your baby is a boy; his 'unit' is developing by now and will show in some positions. Usually hard to tell with a girl unless she's wide open.
Leave the baby alone. He/she will move as much as he/she wants. And trust me, a couple months from now you're going to wish it would STOP moving around!
Good luck on that ultrasound. Hope you made your appointment first thing so you don't have to 'hold it' forever; I almost didn't make it.
PS: That comment about making your baby mad because of all the water you have to drink is about the stupidest thing I"ve heard in my life!!!

I was 16 weeks pregnant a month ago and found out the sex of my baby. I am having a boy. It's possible to find out as early as 16 weeks as long as he/she cooperates in letting you see :) Good Luck and Congrads!

The lady doing my ultrasound told me to walk up and down the stairs to get the baby to move and it worked.

They may be able to tell you if the baby is in a good position. But I know to many people that were told one gender and it turned out wrong!! Unless they can really point out a penis (sometimes it's unmistakable:), I wouldn't count on them to be 100% correct. Anyway, waiting till the end is so much more fun.

I was 17 weeks when I found out I was having a boy. It's very accurate, especially if its a boy, you will definitely know! I think that when it's that early, the 2D is more accurate, because the 3D can distort the image, especially that early.

its best to wait till 20 weeks if you want to know the sex, its still somewhat of a guess at 16 weeks.

It is best to wait until you are 5 months. I know that is hard to do. If you are going to let them do it, then it is good to drink orange juice before the visit.
