They can put you in cuffs and let the DA decide if the want to pursue it... Spend the night in jail..... Chances are that they will only charge the person who had them. If the passenger pulls it out, toss it on the floor.... Its yours!
Ohio has some laxed Pot laws... I was in a "underground" casino in Cinci. The cops raided it while we were there.... I had to sit down at a table to give the Sargent my info... I had a half bag on me, He wrote me a $110 ticket. When I stood to walk away he said "hey, get this sh*t off the table" That's right! As long as I had that ticket.... I had a LEGAL bag of pot!
That was in 93... Things may have changed

You aren't responsible for them having the drugs, but you can be charged for accessory to possession, and possibly other misdemeanors.
