I have a 69 Corvette. The engine was rebuilt and they put a new manifold and a new carb on it that is too big. It now has an Edelbrock 1406 carb on it, but the air filter on it is designed for a hood scoop. The neck of it had to be cut down to fit it under the hood (which does NOT have a scoop). Does anyone know where I can get info on an air filter that I can put on it that will allow the proper airflow? It has to be a side intake/low profile filter that will fit on the 1406... Anyone?

p.s. I didn't do it, I bought it this way.

you are gonna need a side mount air filter, they make them and there not cheap, it has 2 filters, one over each valve cover, a recesed base air cleaner will not fit that carb, also look and see if there is an adaptr plate below the carb, or a spacer plate, you might be able to remove that and gain some room

Try summit racing equipment and ask them about a air cleaner that has a recessed base, I had to put one on my 67 chevelle to get hood clearance with an eldelbrock carb.
