Faith and love.
Neither can be quantified. Acquiring scientific knowledge requires study and method, although I'm quite sure some would argue that faith and love require both of those.

Faith is an obvious choice. It may not be completely disconnected from psychology but there is no known proven link. Unicorns also have nothing to do with science. By most explanations, they are based on the narwhal which is a sea mammal which has been studied by science but there is no scientific explanation why there are so many myths of the fictional land animal.

1-Hope. I watched a documentary on tv where they trained mice to push on a button and food would come down a chute. The mice that always got food when they pushed on the button stopped trying right away when it didn't work. They mice that only got food randomly when they pushed on the button just kept trying forever because they had Hope. People hope for things they've never had. To me, science can't explain that.
2-Bible. People appearing out of clay? The sea parting? A talking/burning bush? Feeding thousands with 1 loaf of bread and 2 fish? To me, science can't explain that.

The study of the paranormal has nothing to do with science. In fact, it defies science.
Belief in God has nothing to do with science - it has to do with faith, which has no basis in science.
I hope this helps.
