I don't know if you love Harry Potter as much as I do! Either way, I am a total fanatic. I have read and re-read the series many times. I've also read "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", "Quidditch Through the Ages", and "Conversations with J.K. Rowling". I'm not even going to list the books I've read to get a better understanding of the myths and legends that inspired the books and the books I've read that are meant to explain the clues that are given through out the books.
I didn't read the books until after I'd seen the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone movie, so I love the movies almost as much as the books. I've seen them all enough times to be able to quote entire scenes easily. I went to the midnight show of the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie in my town, so I was one of the first people here to see it. I also went to the Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince book release party at Barnes and Noble in my town. I went dressed in my Harry Potter witch items and took part in the costume contest. I won some Harry Potter candy (Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans).
I've read (a lot) and written (a little) Harry Potter fanfiction. I also frequently check various Harry Potter related websites for updates on the books, movies and merchandise. I have bought a lot of HP merchandise by the way. Aside from the book and movie collections, I've got desk and wall calendars, sticker books, movie poster books, wall posters, t-shirts, a HP hooded sweatshirt, the wand w/sound effects, movie soundtracks, pins, candy (Bertie Botts, Fizzing Wizbees, Jelly Slugs, Cockroach Clusters, Ice Mice, Chocolate Frogs, and Drooble's Best Blowing Gum), puzzles, UNO, Scene It DVD game, Slytherin House ring, wallet, tie, scarf, Gryffindor tie, scarf, dress robe, HP wool sweater, Hogwarts wizard hat, wizard chess, Lumos book light, Lumos book light case -- Slytherin and Gryffidor editions, stationary, journals, well, you get the idea. I'm a Harry Potter fanatic....

I TOTALLY agree with you. I LOVE Harry Potter and it's going down as a classic, but Twilight is just a fad because of "hot" Robert Pattinson. I think he's ugly. Anyhow, another thing. The characters have NO personalities. Bella's whiny. Edward is perfect (and everyone knows perfection is boring), but he's also having violent outbursts every 20 seconds. The only character with some depth is Jacob, but he had to be ruined when he was turned into a pushy, annoying werewolf. I could NOT finish Breaking Dawn. I tried twice. And my trying failed. It was so boring and didn't progress at all. Basically, it goes like this: Edward and Bella get married. Bella get's pregnant on her wedding night. (necrophilia, LOL) Almost a third of the book is Bella being pregnant and Jacob feeling sorry for her. (Oh, and there's this part about werewolves wanting to kill Bella because of the "thing" inside her, but they were soon forgotten by just about everyone). After giving birth, she is turned into a vampire. All this blah newborn vampire stuff. The most predictable part: Bella can resist the temptations of blood better than any newborn can. So predictable, her being different from everyone else. Ugh. That's basically all I read. I skipped through chapters trying to find interesting stuff. It wasn't there. Apparently the second half is pretty much all about the Volturi. And no plot progression (not that there is any plot). Oh, and I despise Edward and Bella. So, basically, what I'm trying to say, is this: Harry Potter has taken over life as we know it. I have to admit. I gave up hiding my obsession. I'm suffering from Post-Potter Depression. (Didn't get that joke? Google "Post-Potter Depression by Lauren Fairweather and Liane Graham.") And I hate Twilight and LOVE Harry Potter. Harry Potter will go down in my heart forever as the best literature piece I've ever read.

Ginny Weasley does, right?! *You only know that if you're up to date, on the books. Can't wait for the movies to catch up with the books! How about you?? AND....can't wait for the next BOOK! I wonder if that will be relaesed around the holidays. Happy reawding / viewing (I have all books on audio cassettes AND DVD's so I can listen to them no matter where I am / what I'm driving, again and again. I LOVE the narrator. And, naturally, all of the hardcover books and a second copy in softcover, for reading in the bathtub....have seen each at the movies - nice, big screen....wish there were still drive-in movie screens.....upteen times. Have the posters, special-order wands, etc. (Good thing I have children!!!! Trying to get them to be as enthusiastic as I. ) Anyhow, be well!

Yep, I love Harry Potter. I re-read the books obsessively, I re-watch the movies obsessively, I belong to Harry Potter for Grown Ups and I visit Wizard News, Mugglenet and the Leaky Cauldron every day.
I have conversations with other HP fans as to whether Dumbledore is really dead, the true meaning of unicorn blood, whether love potions constitute a date-rape drug, and who should have played Sirius in the movies.
If I have another kid, I'm probably going to give it a wizard name, and try to enrol it at Hogwarts.

I've read all the books several times over, seen all the movies multiple times, annoy my boyfriend by constantly telling him how the movies differ from the books, and listen to Harry Potter audiobooks at night. Devoted enough?

I have to say I saw more 30 somethings in line for the last book than I saw kids. Harry seems to have a fan following that crosses all lines. It thinks its nice to have a little magic in our lives.
