Made a community standards no-no?

Information indeed is the point. But it is also a game. Pat standard answers are available elsewhere. In the spirit of fair play, does not the cut and paste answer handicap other players? In other words, a great answer is a great answer, but should it be no less labor intensive than another. What about those who cannot cut and paste with their computer?

No, but those cheating ba$tards sure as hell shouldn't get 10 points.

sometimes there isn't a 'short answer' & I avoid the question because I can't type very fast.
& sometimes I've answered the same or a 'like' question, so a cut & paste answer would be easier.

I only wish I knew how to cut & paste.

I see nothing wrong with those that are capable & nothing wrong with posting a link to an answer. If an asker knew where to look for their answer, they wouldn't have asked the question.

No, of course not. Why should they?

Frankly, the quality of some of the writing here is absolutely atrocious. At least much of the cut-and-paste is readable.

And if it answers the question, what's the problem?

I think people who just paste links with useless information should be banned, but if someone cut and pastes the answer for you, I think that's acceptable. There's my two bits.

It should be against the rules. If someone wanted to google their question, why bother asking a question? I often wonder that, anyway.

I get tired of scrolling down past those boring posts, anyway.

Not if they are derived from a notable and good source. I've found answers to my questions from people copying and pasting frome wikipedia..and it has proved very helpful

Isn,t the ideal to get the most informed answer ..if you answer yes..then does it matter how it was derived? If you answered no ..then exactly what are you wanting?
