im hosting and preforming in an event this weekend .......and im just thinking of the best way to really get the crowd into it ........i want people to have fun and i want the crowd to be satisfyed when they leave ...........

In a word....soul! I've worked with many of the greats, from Ray Charles to the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin. One trait they all have in common: they hold nothing back. Their audience gets every drop that they have to offer, no matter how hard and how deep they have to dig to give it up.
Take the time to study some of the r&b greats prior to your gig....you will be glad you did!

Get some jokes lined up, and have alot of them in case a few fail.
check up on billy crystal, who hosted the Academy Awards a time or two.
Make contact with the audience, it's important that they know that you know they are there.
