The oder does not dissipate fast enough when you let it dry out. I had the same problem. I ended up going to the car wash, vaccuming out the gas from the carpet ( I had 3" of gas on the front floorboard) shampoo'd the carpet there at the self serve then vaccuming out the water. Next I put baking soda all over the spill area. I left the windows down so the fumes could dissipate. A week later it was still too strong to drive the car. So I ended up at the janitorial supply store for enzymes and carpet shampoo. They new what was needed to get the smell out. It worked and the carpet came out really clean too.

because that gas is an oil-depending product, you'll both want yet another oil-depending product to apply as a solvent to eliminate it, or a suitable detergent which will spoil the bond between it and the carpet. because the former is slightly out of the question, the latter might want to seem the superb approach. Any sturdy detergent that you comprehend will emulsify the gas right into a water service through its surfactants(like, per chance, "daybreak" dishwashing liquid?) and could be vacuumed away with a save-vacuum might want to do. besides, there should be no detriment to the carpet through doing this, even might want to some residue of the suds be left in the back of--- it will basically scent like you've sparkling dishes onboard...desire it enables...

Let some baking soda sit overnight on where the gasoline is and leave your windows open at every opportunity. Vacuum the soda up. I suggest doing this several times. I also suggest using some Renuzit spray...good for the fabric and the air. Even after all this, leave the windows open often.

Three days left to answer? Huh? The odor of gasoline will abate as it dries. Really no other way to remove the smell other than hosing it down and diluting it, but if it's in the interior of the auto you cannot really do that.

Open the doors and let it air out. A couple of days, depending on the amount spilled.
