What was the procedure? Was it worth it. I have an old engagement ring that I want to get rid of. Would it be better to sell it on eBay? I don't know anything about it as far as the 3 c's or anything.

you won't get what its worth on eBay or a pawn shop.

get it appraised

then place an ad in free classifieds (the kind you can place ads in for free)... ask for whatever its worth or best offer

or see if you can sell it on consignment at a jewelry store

If its worth anything, don't pawn it, they usually can't afford to give you what it is worth, and a lot of times on eBay you take much less.
Have you taken it to a jeweler to have it appraised I know there is a fee, but that would be one way of seeing what it is worth,If it is old it may be worth lots more than you think.

well for a quick sale a pawn will rip you off but to just get rid of it and be done, then yeah go with pawn shop.

ebay CAN be long and drawn out but you may get what you want

go to ebay and find similar rings and see what they are going for, I WOULD GO TO A JEWELER FIRST,

I pawned a guitar one time. You never get near as much money on the item as it's worth though. You leave the place feeling like you've been ripped off.

I would try eBay first. I pawned some jewelry during my divorce and got maybe 30% of the true value.

Pawn shop won't give you anything for it. Try ebay.

i agree with the above comments. my friends have pawned things, but only 'cheap' things that they can't get ripped off on!
