What's that? I can't seem to read your question. Just kidding. Computers have no known harmful effects on eyesight, but computer users do often complain of eye related symptoms such as eyestrain, headaches, fatigue, dry eyes, and difficulty focusing, These symptoms (Computer Vision Syndrome - CVS) however are caused not by the computer screen itself but rather by the conditions surrounding the computer screen, such as poor lighting or improper placement of computer equipment and computer furniture. In some instances, a pre-existing eye problem may be the cause.

First and foremost, montors do NOT ruin your eyesight. IF it is ruined, it is because your were born that way, with non-uniform corneas and/or misshapen eyeballs, a product of the genes you got from your parents. Blame them for the coke bottle lenses if you have to blame somebody. Staring at a monitor screen, or a book, or anything for that matter will NOT change the shape of your cornea or eyeball, so whatever you were born with, is not affected by staring at a monitor. Eyes do change slowly over time which is why those of us who wear glasses periodically have to get nw ones, and people with excellent eyesight eventually end up with glasses, but these changes happen all the time, monitors or not. What does happen is eyestrain, headaches and sore neck and shoulder muscles from sitting still and staring for long periods of time. Get up and move around once in a while, keep those muscles moving to avoid the sore neck and shoulders. Shade the monitor from the overhead and side window lighting and then turn the brightness down a bit. Many people have their monitor too bright and bright lights cause eyestrain, the same as a bright sunny day without sunglasses Last, radiation. It used to be true that significant radiaion was given off by cathode ray tubes. The energy level is more likely to be at the low end, X-rays, rather than the high energy end, gamma rays. The only difference is in how each is produced by the way, not what happens when each interacts with the cells in your body. But I digress. Newer and modern monitors have much reduced radiation because of lead in the glass. Sitting at 24-36 inches or so is reasonable and radiation at that range is very, very low, almost background level. Not to worry about birth defects from radiation exposure from your monitor. LCD or CRT, same thing with exception of the leaded glass envelope and there is nothing in the LCD to produce an X-ray or gamma ray, but then again, radiation is NOT the problem these days with any monitor (or TV for that matter) made within the past 20 years or more.

Actually to expose your eyes the whole day to as much light as the computer monitor is very harmful to the eyes. Try to take a few hours break here and then, even your eyes need to rest as well.
