A 'bushwhacker' would be a person who pre-plans an attack on a person, then secretly waits in hiding until the 'wackee' comes by. It could be robbery, a fist fight, etc.
A 'bushwhacker' is sure not to have YOUR best interest in mind.

Well I think it is either somebody who likes to take a backpack and just walk into the forest for the weekend... like some people I know... you know who you are. Or it can be bushwhacking with a vehicle going for a nice off road bash.
