go up to the guys in green and press R1 and up. But you need to have respect... this is for PS2. go to this site i has any cheat you can think of

Press R1 when near a grove street families member, and pres up on the d-pad. When the are in your gang, press up on the d-pad to make them follow you, and down to make them stay put (Or vice versa). hold down to release them from your gang, and if you have a camera, walk up to them and wait for it to tell you to press L1. then your gang member will take a photo of you. When uou have max. respect, you can recruit seven gang members

Right go up to someone wearing green in your gang area and go up to them. press R1 to target them but don't shoot them and press up. In the left hand corner of your screen it should say gang strength and it should go up. U now know they are in your gang. To make them follow you press the up directional button and for the homie to say there you just tap down.!

It's gangsta. Yea, you press R1 when you are facing them, and they join your gang. They don't keep up as good during shooting though. So you better have big guns!
