I'de have to say about 3 years ago was when the show stopped being funny. if you watch an episode these days you're lucky if you laugh twice. when do you all think it stopped being funny? p.s. im a huge simpsons fan, they just need to end it before they beat a dead horse too much.

A) It's a subjective question and you've already answered it for yourself.
B) It's also a question of longevity. People have been saying that the show has been going downhill since season 7 (it's about to start season 18). However, a few years later, people look back on episodes they thought weren't funny and find themselves laughing.
C) In my opinion, a "bad" Simpsons episode is still better than virtually anything else on television (I don't think Family Guy will have the staying power, American Dad is just an attempt to ride the coattails of FG, American Idol, Rock Star, etc are really just Karaoke shows...)

individually, i think of the Simpsons continues to be humorous and appealing. yet, it 'is' different, and not 'as' humorous because it was once. (this is nonetheless between the suitable exhibits on television, this is like being upset with a bronze medal once you saved getting gold. You overlook that bronze is rather dang good.) besides, i might say it occurred with Season 9, whilst Mike Scully took over.

Around season 7. That's when I remember it stopped. I've been watching the Simpsons since season 2 so I remember when it was really good, around seasons 2-5. Those were its golden years. It's been dead for a while now.

i was 11 when the simpsons started and now i am 28. So i would be kind of sad to see the simpsons go. they still make me laugh. Its pretty much the only thing i watch on tv.

During the last 7-8 years, the show has focused more on Homer. Homer is NOT funny. He is annoying. The BART episodes are the funniest. this show has shot its wad. Time to let it go!

I agree, it has quit being funny. I do think it is unfortunate that they decided not to go out of top. kind of like Babe Ruth in a way.

I still find it funny. I guess this is a case of each to their own and what ever tickles your fancy. It's still tickling mine...

I guess I haven't noticed the difference.......maybe you should write to them. The writers could be burnt out.

That way - when they had specials - it would be fresh material......

I cannot wait to see Bart graduate from high school - can you imagine him in college???
