If BOTH ovaries are removed, you would essentially go through menopause- which means no more periods. If your doctor has suggested removing your ovaries, he/she should discuss what to expect with you before you have the surgery. Please ask your doctor for more info if you're about to have surgery.

When ovaries are surgically removed you go thru what most call surgical menopause. You will no longer have a period.

You may want to have hormone replacement as well to help with the hot flashes and night sweats. For some, this is not an option.

I strongly suggest you speak with your doctor on this matter so you will know what to expect and what your options are. Make a list of questions and bring them with you to the appointment. I also suggest that you bring along a second person to help you hear everything fully. Two sets of ears are better than just one set.

We ladies tend to forget everything once we are semi naked on an examining table. Well, at least I do.

You won't get your period, but you might very well get HOT flashes, or as I call them my inner child is playing with matches. If you DO get them, first try an over the counter product called Estroven. If that is not helpful, and you are a candidate for estrogen replacement, you may want to try the Estring, which is a soft plastic ring that you wear in the vagina that releases low dose estrogen, or you may want to wear a transdermal patch.

I have been on the patch, but ran into a woman at the drugstore today who said her doc took her off estrogen, and told her to try Estroven. She said her husband said it improved her mood. I bought some and will try it. Sorry I don't have the report yet, I guess this would qualify as heresay.

No you don't get a period and no you won't grow a mustache. Usually you have your uterus removed at the same time you have the ovaries removed.

i dont think so because thats where the egg is released from. normally when u have ur period the egg is released and it doesnt implant to the wall of the uterus so the endometrium is shed, but when the ovaries release the egg and it is fertilized by the sperm and implants then ur pregnant, if u have ur ovaries removed u dont produce the hormones

no you would not have a period, because you would not produce an egg that attaches to the lining of your uterus.
