black shades in clothing is usually a sateration of another color. Try wearing all black under a fluorescent light with an outfit that wasn't made to wear together; you may see shades of green or red (most common shades of black) or blue. If you have light black clothing, it is probably like an acid wash of black which fades it out; and yes, I would consider it gray.

It may be a warm black, meaning having some red in it or a cool black having blue in it or it may have white added. Lots of blacks are brown black, which is a warm black. That is why buying black clothes need the set bought together by same company or have the color to match with them. specifically, yes.

I noticed that there are many shades of black when I tried to coordinate the black items in my wardrobe. There were very few things that were the same shade.

IT'S LIGHT BLACK AND REALLY BAD. YOU DON'T KNOW UNTIL YOU GET THE ARTICLE HOME... AND PUTTING IT UP AGAINST ANOTHER ARTICLE OF CLOTHING THAT'S JET BLACK ...IT LOOKS AWEFUL.

IT'S HARD TO MATCH UNLESS YOU WEAR ANOTHER
COLOR, TOTALLY DIFFERENT, WITH IT...AND IT DOESN'T
LOOK RIGHT WITH ANOTHER COLOR OF BLACK.

SOMETIMES IT LOOKS AS IF IT'S BEEN WASHED IN HOT WATER AND HAS A TENDENCY TO CARRY A REDDISH TONE.

DARK GRAY IS REALLY NICE AND CAN BE WORN WITH A LIGHTER GRAY.

I think so. Jet black is the "truest" black. There's lighter shades of black. And you can have slate grey, stone grey etc.
