Using only the computer to do it. Get out and talk to people. Even using the phone is better. Use the computer to find a company you're interested in, but then pursue it in person or on the phone. They may ask you to send a resume in via email, but at least you've become a voice and face to them!

Outright lying or overstating your experience and not including pre-approved proper refences.
