try this...
go to start, click on control panel, click on "date, time, language, and regional options", click on "regional and language options", click on the languages tab, click on the details button, make sure that the keyboard language is what you would normally use (for me, I use English United States)

eliminate each and all the capacity components (lead and battery) do no longer use wd40 because it may attack the membrane in the keyboard and it will if it gets onto the PCB consume away on the lacquer that protects the circuits enable it dry out over some days then attempt it lower back if the project persists then it has probably corrupted the chip set to your gadget attempt an exterior keyboard if that exhibits the comparable faults then that's the chip set and you will have an costly restoration to pay for

Check the Keyboard section of your Control Panel. Click on the International Locale settings. If that is set to what you expect, then check the Regional Options.

My first thought was that it might be a virus. Then I got to wondering -- in your Word document - on the "Formatting" toolbar, you will see the name of the font. Check to be sure you have selected a "normal" style, and that you didn't accidentally select a symbol font. Click the down-arrow next to the name of the font and choose something like Times Roman or Courier and see if this solves your problem.
Would you mind sending me a note if it does?

I think that you should get a new keyboard because there could be a glitch in the line. Also they are pretty cheap and it will not be a major set back if you have to buy another one.

Well, certain non-ASCII fonts produce that when you type regular letters. If thats not the case, it could be a virus, in which case you need to remove the virus.
