Seriously your 12 year old really should not be allowed or encouraged to have a girlfriend. I mean 12 year old girls mothers don't appreciate this kind of crap. He should be focusing on school so he doesn't end up at a $6 an hour job after becoming a baby daddy at 14. Sorry but I just don't understand you parents, no offense.

Just by the way this question is stated I really do not believe this is "Mom", I think this is 12 year old boy who has a crushed heart but is afraid to ask for advice. So, hun, believe me, you are sooo young and there are sooo many girls in this world and believe me you will go through many more heart breaks before you find the right girl for you that you want to marry and spend the rest of your life with. You have plenty of time so don't be sad, forget about her and move on, you will be ok, time heals.

Not to much you can do, unless you have another girlfriend up your sleeve. Just be his mom, and try to cheer him up, when he seems a bit down. Time will help, he is young, but that doesn't mean he isn't hurting right now, he is.
Try and get him interested in other projects, to keep him occupied, with less time to think of her.
Sadly, it happens to us all, it's not fatal, even if we think it is at the time.
Sooner or later, he'll find a new love, and move on. So just be there for him, until that happens.
Just don't say, "aww you're young, you'll get over her." We know that, but it's not what he wants or needs to hear.
Time will take care of it.

He is still a child remember that. Give him his space but encourage him to hang with friends instead of getting attached so early to a girl. Maybe have a party for him and invite his guy friends. If he gave her gifts she's not likely to want to return them. Tell him to just surround himself with possitive people. Dont lecture, just be supportive. I too have a 12 year old (almost 13)! Good luck and enjoy them while they're young.

Let him know that there is a right girl for him when he is older and if he waits it will be special.
He doesn't want to be messing with another man's future wife.
Teenagers need hope and one of the best things is for them to know that these years will pass ,you just have to ride them through and you will come into a new phase a better phase..

tell him that he's only 12 and there will be plenty of women for him to choose from. try and explain to him that he has plenty of time to find another woman he likes. kids seem to think the world is ending when things like this happen and have no clue that its just another 'little thing' that will pass.

Not a whole lot.Just be there for him and maybe keep him busy so he doesn't think about her...And listen without comment when he talks about her...Which is hard to do.Don't make it out as it's a little thing cause to him it isn't..Good luck

Do absolutely nothing Mom! This is part of growing up. Be there if he wants to talk, but don't quiz him, and whatever you do, don't criticize her to him. Things will work out. You don't want to be made the bad guy!
