I lived there for 7 years and don't have a lot good to say about it. I liked the fact that the summers were hot and dry and that Spokane gets quite a bit more sun than Seattle, but I hated the bitter cold, snowy winters. I found it lacking in ethnic diversity, too conservative politically and stuck in a peculiar small-town mindset even though it's not a small town. The real estate is cheaper than Seattle, but the job market isn't much to speak of and wages are lower so that pro sort of becomes a neutral. I'd go back to visit because I have friends there still, but I'd never live there again.

pros? Well if you like to have no big city with in 250+ miles from you, or any real city for that matter then there's a pro! OH! THere is this one bar there that serves really strong drinks. That's always a pro!

Cons? eastern WA is flat. It's HOOOOT in the summer and COLD in the winter! There are no real cities near you, the "happening" side of the state is a 4-5 hour drive away. It's farm country.

you're able to like it. suited state with a lot to do counting on your thought of a stable time. bypass experience it as everywhere you bypass has professional's and con's. kin being some distance away would not stick to with right this moment's technologies. Skype or oovoo lead them to suited there on your front room. The worst section for many is the long days or nights. yet like something you will get used to it and omit it once you go away. choose for it as that's getting rarer to bypass there as a accountability station.

Spokane has the most terrible Winters.
I find it to be very Provincial and a Cultural Desert. I suggest that you choose Seattle, Portland, or Medford, Oregon.

OMG, don't do it. I moved from their as soon as I could...to Seattle and then to Portland, and soon, to Las Vegas. Spokane is a small town with a small towns mentality. I go back and visit family and, as much as they change the facade of the businesses, it is still the same old same old as it always was.

It is a very beautiful but quite cold area, mountains accessible. The Shopping District downtown is connected by raised walkways for Winter convenience, and I found the people friendly.

Pro: Close to northern Idaho... beautiful mountains, forests, and river valleys.

Con: Too far from Pacific Ocean.

'Nuff said?
