Haha, thats funny, because my sister and I (she's not really my sister, but she might as well be, because yes, she is my ABSOLUTE BEST friend ever, and I'm queer) refer to ourselves as Karen and Jack (or Karebear and Jackilicious sometimes). Well, I can't say every gay man HAS a best girl friend, thast would be stereotyping, but I say they SHOULD if they don't! I LOVE my Karen, I can talk to her about ANYTHING thats on my mind, she's ALWAYS there for me, and she always makes me feel SOOOO loved. And she's str8, so whenever we go out anywhere, we can always check out the sexi guys together. We used to hang out ALL the time, but I recently moved to florida with my mom and sister, so we never see each other anymore, and it's terrible (okay, so it's only been about a month, but I can't stand being so far away from her), but we CONSTANTLY email each othe rback and forth everyday, sometimes just to say nothing but hi and how much we love each other. She's moving to Beligum with HER family at the end of this school year, which will be disastorous, but we've promised each other that in two and a half years, when we graduate high school, she's gonna move back here, and we're gonna move into an apartment in New York (there goes the Will and Grace theme again) and go to a college there together and stuff, and I can't wait. But yeah, so ... I wouldn't say EVERY gay man on the planet has a best girl friend like i do, many have other gay guy friends that they're simply best friends with, no attraction whatsoever, which is also great), and someeven have best str8 guy friends. It's just a matter of who they click most with, no specific gender. It IS a public stereotype tho, that a gay man always has that one special chick, isn't it? Anyways, yeah. Loves,
~!*Justy Bean*!~

Travis, hello ;-)

I can't really talk about every gay men, but i can talk about myself. Yes, I have a gorgeous best girlfriend. We met at Boston College during our freshmen year. We were like pea in a pod. We do things together, We went to Europe together and we had fun with guys together. We shopped and make fun of interesting people we meet. Gawd, I missed her so much. Luckingly, we still in touch with each other but she's now in LA and work as a setting designer, I haven't seen each other for a year now, but we talked once a week to catch up which we called our "we day" meaning drink and smoke while talking over the phone every thursday night for 2 hours before I go out with my boyfriend.

I surely miss having her around

Yeah, my best boyfriend is gay. But I'm also gay, so it's not the usual "lets go shopping and check out hot boys" type of friendship. He does do my hair and make-up though. It is in my experience that a lot of gay men have a girl bestfriends, but they also have guy best friends.

I am more friends with gay men than gay women, because I find women boring for the most part. But HEY, It goes both ways. It is equally hard to shake off my fag hag boyz when I am trying to cruz the ladies or they need a date for a wedding ( I said no, Justin, show your pride, damnit! Take your boyfriend.)

I think it's because they find a woman to be a better listener and non-judgemental when they want to discuss their relationships. And there isn't any sexual tension between us either. We can just stand on ceremony and just be.... it's a beautiful mix.

No - I do not have a 'girl-friend' (or as they are sometimes referred to: fag-hags) that I ever hang out with or talk too. My partner does have a couple gals from work that he calls 'girl-friends' and hangs out with occasionally.

well, not every gay man has a very best girl friend...
I have a very best girl friend, but also a very best male friend...
I am more comfortable with them than with my family actually, they mean the world to me.

my best male friend is the closest i have ever had to a brother. i always call him my brother, even though he isn't. his girl however, she is the only girl i can open up to totally. without her, i would be totally lost. she was there for my coming out, which was unintentional. she has also been there for me for everything else. i have betrayed the friendship and learned the errors of my ways and she forgave me. i couldn't exist without her friendship. she is always there.

Travis,
I wouldn't be the one to know. I have been essentially apart from the Gay Community.

It seems that in the movies that is true though. Not that it makes it really true! lol
